Paid Internships at Climate Action

Supporting the critical role of youth in addressing global challenges Climate Action have several Paid Internshipsavailable which are specifically relevant for graduates passionate about climate change or sustainability within the following departments:

· Programme Research & Development

· Marketing and Communications

· Audience and Stakeholder Engagement

· Event Management and Operations

The current opportunities are full time, working 5 days a week: 3 days in our office in Victoria, London and 2 days from home with an immediate start date. The salary range for these internships will be between £19k-23k dependent on the candidate.

We are looking for interns for a minimum of 3 months, with the opportunity for rising stars to join the Climate Action team permanently. These internships are a great way to gain hands on experience within the climate change policy space.

Who we’re looking for:

· Educated to or actively working towards a degree level (preferably in sustainability, or a related subject)

· Confident communications and influencing skills especially on the telephone

· Excellent telephone etiquette, oral and written communication skills

· Strong interest and/or understanding of climate change and sustainability

· Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to multi-task effectively

· Ability to build relationships

· Flexible team player, with ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines

· Office experience and sound knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Positive work ethic, can-do attitude, and plenty of initiative and willingness to learn

· Proven ability to work well in a team but also initiative to work on your own

Position: Conference Production Assistant (Programme Assistant) Start date: Immediately Paid Internship l Bonuses Contract: 3 months

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate seeking a challenging but rewarding opportunity to play an instrumental role in shaping and building a global conference programme, which delivers positive environmental and social impact, while also working directly with multiple key stakeholders such as the UN. You will have the opportunity to build a good industry network and establish relationships with global climate leaders such as international Ministers of Environment and Senior UN Dignitaries.

The position is best suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who is passionate about the subject of sustainability, enjoys working as part of a team, solution-driven and works well under pressure with creative and proactive attitude. The Conference Production Assistant will report directly to the Programme Manager.

You will need excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail. This role offers the selected candidate a clear path for potential career progression within the production division, and possibly other company divisions. Key responsibilities and duties:

· Identify and invite sector leaders and experts to speak

· Meet event deadlines through confirming speakers and collecting presentations

· Confirm speakers to meet production targets

· Work closely with speakers to maintain relationships and collect all pre-event material

· Being responsible for technical requirements such as checking PowerPoint presentations and/or videos

· Assist with speaker briefings, queries and relationship management

· Prepare copy for marketing communications when required

· Prepare interview questions for speakers and sponsors when required

· Support programme manager with general administrative duties

· Helping ensure website, event app and conference programme are always up-to-date

· Supporting the Programme Manager and operational team on-site, managing speakers, helping with room set-up, and event management (if applicable)

· Industry research and competitor analysis of rival conferences and events (if applicable)

Position: Marketing Assistant Start date: Immediately Paid Internship l Bonuses Contract: 3 months

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to support the Marketing department in delivering impactful and engaging communications to the Climate Action network of 150,000+ high level climate change policy and sustainability professionals. Utilising your expertise in digital and social media marketing you will assist in implementing outbound marketing initiatives, managing multiple digital and social marketing campaigns and producing high quality content for articles, websites, newsletters and infographics with an aim to generate awareness and engagement amongst target audience.

The position is best suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who is passionate about the subject of sustainability, enjoys working as part of a team, solution-driven and works well under pressure with creative and proactive attitude. The Marketing Assistant will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

You will need excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities and duties:

· Assisting with implementing digital and social media campaigns

· Updating and maintaining website and event materials

· Creating and posting marketing messages on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

· Assisting with copywriting for email campaigns, monthly newsletter and website articles

· Market research and competitor analysis

· Assist with creating marketing reports

· Other ad-hoc marketing activities, including developing your skills in customer service and responding to enquiries

· Research and report on industry insights

Position: Audience Acquisition Executive Start date: Immediately Paid Internship l Bonuses Contract: 3 months

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience from working on a number of high-profile events attended by senior representatives of regional governments, UN agencies, international and regional NGOs, investors and donors, research institutes and solution providers. A key part of this role will involve researching and forging relationships with high-level stakeholders across multiple mediums including telephone and written communication.

The position is best suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who is passionate about the subject of sustainability, enjoys working as part of a team, solution-driven and works well under pressure with creative and proactive attitude. The Audience Acquisition Executive will report directly to Audience Manager.

You will need excellent communication skills, telephone etiquette, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities and duties:

· Identify and engage with select community groups via telephone and online

· Assist with delegate management from registration to attendance

· Assist with onboarding for high level stakeholders onto relevant event apps to maximise networking opportunities

· Assist with onsite registration of key stakeholders

· Actively form and nurture good relationships within the climate change policy community

· Attend relevant industry events (where necessary)

· Monitor and respond to delegate communications and enquiries

· Work with the production team to understand key objectives and USPs and communicate these to stakeholders

· Assist with creating report on audience acquisition campaigns

· Update and maintain accurate and detailed records of stakeholders

Position: Event Operations Assistant Start date: Immediately Paid Internship l Bonuses Contract: 3 months

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience from working on a number of high-profile international events. You will have the opportunity to shadow the Operations teams in the UK and abroad to help plan, manage and deliver our portfolio of events.

The position is best suited to a highly organised, self-motivated and confident individual who is passionate about the subject of sustainability, enjoys working as part of a team, solution-driven and works well under pressure with creative and proactive attitude. The Operations Assistant will report directly to the Operations Director.

You will need excellent communication skills, telephone etiquette, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities and duties:

· Research vendors and venues for each type of event

· Supporting the events manager with logistical and administrative support

· Assist with preparing relevant logistical documentation related to the event

· Maintaining records of all bookings and documentation related to the event

· Attend internal and external meetings to act as second point of contact

· Assist with answering client enquiries

· Helping set up and dismantle events efficiently through to completion

· Ad-hoc duties at events including, but not limited to, guest list management
